Former Hoddesdon Police Station
Project Value: £5,000,000
Role: Architectural Design, Planning
Project Description: This was a special project for DPA, having the opportunity to work alongside our clients to deliver a future use for this focal building in in the Town in which we are based. The existing building is somewhat dated does not currently contribute towards the Hoddesdon Conservation Area.

Largely redundant since the Police Station was closed in 2011, the building appears tired and dilapidated within the High Street. Working collaboratively with our clients to ensure that the proposed construction was commercially viable, DPA have designed a development of 27 flats involving the conversion of the existing building, extensions to the rear and an additional upper storey – carefully designed to be sympathetic to both the Hoddesdon Conservation Area and the adjacent Grade II Listed Lowewood Museum. DPA have designed a scheme that maximises the delivery of quality new homes within the site, whilst enhancing the buildings appearance with a fresh design including new brickwork, contemporary cladding and large modern window openings. DPA was proud to have supported the landowner in securing the approval of the Council’s Planning Committee in May 2025.
